We would like to inform you that La Palapa Restaurant at The Royal Cancun will be closed for major repairs from August 30 to October 1.
Work to be carried out includes:
- Re-thatching of the palapa roof and the application of a fire retardant product
- Building work and installation of a new smoke extraction system and air ducts in the kitchen area
- A new coat of varnish for the entire wooden palapa structure
- Drainpipes will be incorporated in the area where construction is taking place to catch rainwater
- Electrical wiring will be upgraded throughout La Palapa in accordance with new electricity standards
During this time, we will be serving meals in the Membership Office (former El Castillo Restaurant) on the ground floor of the resort, with the quality, service and attention that you have come to expect from Royal Resorts.
Alternatively, you may order food and drinks on the poolside terrace in Phase II of the resort at lunchtime, and this will also be the venue for our traditional theme nights, weather permitting.
We apologize for the inconvenience that this may cause and appreciate your patience as we work to improve your resort.
More Enhancements to Follow:
This is the first phase in a project to renovate La Palapa Restaurant, one of a handful of restaurants in Cancun with such a breathtaking beachfront location. A new menu offering time-honored favorites and fresh new dishes is being developed and the restaurant furniture will also be replaced in time for the winter season.

Dear Heidi: Thank you for writing to Royal Resorts News. The Grand Coral Golf course is slated to open in spring 2011.

Hi Heidi,
Sure, I asked the Royal Haciendas manager, and she informs me that the last tentative date provided to have the first 9 holes of their Golf course is February 2011.
Please let me know if theres anything else I can help you with.

Can you tell me when the new golf course at the Royal Haciendas will be complete?
