Hello, my name is Joanna Green. I have been the Royal Resorts Communication Manager for over eight years and a Cancun resident for over 20! So if you have questions about Royal Resorts, the Mexican Caribbean and the Yucatan, please let me know and I will endeavor to answer them for you.

Joanna,
What is the status of the connecting road from Royal Hacienda to Quinta Avenida? We are visiting Royal Caribbean and Royal Hacienda in late October.

Dear Stephanie: Thank you for writing to Royal Resorts News. Sea turtle nesting season runs from May to October; the eggs hatch after 45 to 60 days and this means that those laid in October may still be hatching in December. You might be lucky in September although obviously we cannot guarantee it. I suggest that you contact the Guest Services Manager at your resort and tell him/her that you are interested in turtles so that if there is a release during your stay, they will let you know. Would you be interested in watching the adult turtles lay their eggs?
To date, we haven’t had that many turtles yet, but we hope that the season will pick up.

Dear Valerie: Thank you for writing to Royal Resorts News. The beaches in Cancun and the Mexican Caribbean have not been affected by the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Enjoy your vacation.

In 2011 we would like to trade week 45 for an earlier week, say 30. How do we go about doing this?

Waiting in line at U.S. customs, we met a family that had 2 ipods stolen from a room at the Royal Islander. We were shocked since we never have heard of any problems like this. They did not lose their keys. Is this due to the new entry key system or what? And what is being done?

Dear Mike: Thank you for writing to Royal Resorts News. No, as a member you don’t have to pay the non member deposit, even when you are on an internal exchange at another one of the Royal Resorts. I hope that this helps.

We are coming this year for the first full week of September. My daughter and I were wondering, when do the baby turtles get released? We hope we might get to be a part of that this year.
